Guangji Temple is located in the vicinity of the XISI, which is the Buddhist Association of China. By chance, I've met there. Without commercial atmosphere, you can see monks from time to time , and Buddhists living abroad to come here to worship, or even be able to see them chanting along with the abbot.
The first three campus of Guangji Temple iswidely opened to others which is a traditional Chinese courtyard. The Goddess of Mercy was worshiped in the final hall. The west side of the main hall which stand for the Western Paradise, is covered with tablets where ancestors can pay homage to the "reborn" ;East hall , symbolizing the rising sun, is covered with tablets ,in which prayers pray for his family's "Nobu". In the Eighth day of the twelfth month during the Chinese New Year, temple tablets must be replaced. to earn a number of incense money (This is probably the only business model here).
I have no faith, but I firmly believe that everyone's soul needs a place to live in. It is four years since I know that kinds of tablets can be put in Guangji Temple .It was not far away from my grandfather's day of death, that I went there to make a "reborn" tablets for the grandfather ; unconsciously.it has been four years, I believe it almost all the time ,Because of the changes in 2007, I have strong views on the gods. I said to myself, there are only few thousands of card can be hanged in the hall, and I support the gods, but why you make me lose my belief.
Whenever I am grumble ,there are two voices in my own body. One of them is grumble, and the other say in satire: you live without faith, and just to seek your sustenance in a place? But why you are in trouble, you attribute it to the sustenance of the place? Why not in yourself to identify the problems ?
The mocking voice persuade myself that you can not blame on others!
In 2008, shortly after the New Year , I went to the Guangji Temple for a tablet.when I go out from the Guangji Temple, I feel the sun is particulaly shining because I know the sustenance is only a place! |
